Kenyan cargo to take the train

Kenya has banned containers weighing more than 28 t from its roads, in order to maintain the nation's road network in a better state. Such heavy units have had to traverse the country by rail instead of being hauled by trucks since this summer. Transport minister Cyrus Njiru said that the partially state-owned Rift Valley Railways should triple its cargo capacities to this end.
