Ignazio Messina Group ordering more ro-ro containerships

The Italian Genoa-based shipping group Ignazio Messina has ordered four new ro-ro container-ships from STX Offshore & Shipbuilding, a South Korean shipyard, for an overall investment of approximately USD 300 million. The contract sealing the deal was recently signed in Genoa, in the presence of Paolo Messina, the president and CEO of Messina, Andrea Gais, managing director, Ignazio Messina, Stefano Messina, S.H. Shin, president and CEO of STX Offshore & Shipbuilding, S.M. Kim, managing director of the shipbuilding marketing division, and of Shawn Park, its general manager.
