Good annual results

Canadian National Railway (CN) will remember 2014 as an erratic but rather good year. The fourth quarter of last year brought the turnaround, with a net income of CAD 844 million, which was almost 33% more than the previous year's figure of CAD 635 million. CN's start to the year had been impaired by brutal winter weather in the first quarter. It was followed by a strong rebound starting in March, however.
