LSU AgCenter secures $17 million grant from USDA for biorenewables research

The US Department of Agriculture has awarded the LSU AgCenter a five-year $17.2 million research grant for developing bio-fuels and biochemicals from sugarcane and sweet sorghum. The funding will be directed to the AgCenter's Louisiana Institute for Biofuels and Bioprocessing headed by recently appointed Vadim Kochergin who is a researcher at the Audubon Sugar Institute.
