Delhi metro bridge collapse kills five

Five construction workers were killed and 15 injured when a section of viaduct being built for Delhi Metro collapsed. The accident occurred at Jamrudpur on the Central Secretariat - Badarpur line, which is due to open in September 2010, although thernproject is likely to be delayed.rnDelhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) chairman Mr E Sreedharan tendered his resignation claiming moral responsibility for the accident, although this was rejected by Delhi chief minister Mrs Sheila Dikshit on the grounds that his departure would further disrupt DMRC's ambitious Phase 2 metro expansion programme.
