Saab Seaeye, UK, reports the launch of a leaner version of its Cougar XT ROV. The company said the new system's low profile and high power is designed to handle strong currents found in shallow waters. To create a compact version and minimise the effect of current, Saab Seaeye engineers set about reducing the frame size, buoyancy and weight. A thinner 17-millimetre tether is also used to minimise drag.
