iXBlue, France, has announced it is to supply QUADRANS fibre optic gyrocompass systems for installation aboard the four new Tide-class tankers of the UK Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA). The systems, to be supplied to UK-based Kelvin Hughes, will be integrated as a subsystem of the integrated bridge systems for delivery to Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in South Korea where the vessels are under construction.
