MRAP Orders Pour In

On June 28, 2007 the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command (Quantico, Virginia) announced it had awarded BAE Systems Land & Armaments LP, Ground Systems Division (York, Pennsylvania) a $212.4 million firm-fixed-priced delivery order under a previously awarded contract to provide 271 Mine Resistant, Ambush Protected (MRAP) Category (CAT) I vehicles, 16 MRAP CAT II ambulance variants, and 154 MRAP CAT I U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) variants. The contract also includes a Sustainment Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) package consisting of 90-day consumables, forward deployment blocks, and maintenance workshop blocks, as well as the provision of field service representatives and operator/ maintenance training. BAE Systems is to complete deliveries under this contract by July 2008.
