The Berlin Reader

This is an important, timely and exciting book. It brings together some key readings about Berlin, its making and remaking since 1989. Most of these readings have been unavailable to English-speaking readers until now, and having them in translation helps to open up the German-language literature for that audience. In doing so, the book also implicitly questions the taken-for-granted dominance of Anglo-American writing in urban studies, powerfully illustrating what is being missed by those of us who operate predominantly within that tradition.
