The prototype frame models presented in the discussed paper were initially designed as 7-story building with symmetric plan view (3 by 5 bays) as shown in the Fig. 2 of the discussed paper. The BRB members were installed around the center of the perimeter moment-resisting frames for the purpose of withstanding lateral loads during the seismic event. The detail description of the inside gravity load-resisting frame cannot be found in the discussed paper. The authors should have exhibited the illustration of the whole frame model as well. Although the behavior of the whole frame building is controlled by the perimeter moment-resisting frames, including the gravity load-resisting frame in the analytical frame model is necessary to reflect refined response mechanism (i.e., P-delta effect) during analyses. The prototype building presented in the discussed paper can be modeled as the 2D frame model because it is designed to be symmetrical to the center axes with the uniform distribution of stiffness and mass.
