To influence corporate OH&S performance through the financial market

The systematic management of work environment and occupational risks was investigated with the help of a desktop audit to the 150 largest companies on the Australian stock market. The aim of this was to rate companies on their safety management system and to choose those best-of-sector to be included in a OH&S-screened share investment portfolio. The results of the screening, and the indicated performance of the investment portfolio thus compiled, show that there is a link between corporate safety management and share value.
