摘要

The rapid development of new materials has introduced considerable opportunities for the manufacture of modern and smart machines and structures. Design specifications for new and emerging technologies invariably require stringent standards of performance as well as the capability to meet high levels of environmental safety and sustainability. On this basis it is necessary to ensure that regular meetings are arranged for scientists working on new theories and applications for novel materials in order to exchange ideas, recent developments, and to set research goals for the future.
