Motorization in Russia: challenges and solutions

摘要

Present paper reports about the results of research on motorization level in the regions of the Russian Federation. The most car-dependent city and region were identified. We have made a review of such negative consequences of motorization as traffic accidents, road congestion, environmental degradation, noise and vibration. A quantitative evaluation of these hostilities in the Russian cities was made. We also proposed the solutions of the traffic problems, caused by the growth of the automobile fleet.
