Is USA sleeping? Fortune 1000 executives' perspectives on the state of innovation in the USA

The USA is the world's largest economy, but is it a leading innovation nation? As economies mature and slow in growth, innovation will prove to be a key driver in maintaining transient advantage. This article presents a pulse on innovation in the USA as F1000 C-suite executives weigh in on their organisation's innovation health, and how to advance innovation platform in organisations. Overall, nine key findings are presented, some of which include the realisation that F1000 organisations are only average at best when it comes to innovation, that most innovation that happens is incremental and random, and many organisations lack a specific innovation strategy. As well, there is a perception gap amongst senior management - depending on the level of the position - when it conies to an understanding of what the innovation culture is in organisations.
