New design for Yusufeli dam project nears completion

The Yusufeli project is in the northeastern part of Turkey. It is the fifth downstream dam project on the Coruh river. The dam axis is located 800 m downstream of the confluence of the Oltu creek and Coruh river. The final design, prepared in 1990, proposed a scheme consisting of a 270 m-high rockfill dam with a clay core, and a powerhouse with an installed capacity of 540 MW.
