摘要

Waste heat is that heat which is generated in a process by way of the combustion of fuel or chemical reaction and then dumped into the heat into the environment even though it could still be reused for some useful and economic purpose. In a conventional IC engine a considerable heat is carried away by exhaust gases. If this waste heat energy is trapped and converted into usable energy, the overall efficiency of an engine can be improved. The percentage of energy rejected to the environment through exhaust gas which can be potentially recovered is approximately 30-40% of the energy supplied by the fuel depending on the engine load. There is renewed interest in the conversion of this energy to increase the fuel efficiency of vehicles and exhaust gas possess 2.83 kW to 9.663 kW at various load conditions. This paper explores the feasibility of using waste heat energy of engine exhaust for operating triple fluid absorption refrigeration system.
