摘要

An alternative numerical solution to a screw-thread problem is presented. A displacement-potential-based computational scheme is developed to model the physical conditions and the arbitrary shape of the screw-thread geometry, wherein the principle of linear interpolation is used to transfer the boundary values at the non-nodal boundary points to neighboring field nodal points. The elastic field of a Buttress thread is analyzed to obtain the distributions of displacements and stresses over its normal cross-sections.
