PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both the freedom of lattice and calculation efficiency in a numerical analysis device using mixed lattice type solution-adaptive lattice approach.;SOLUTION: In this numerical analysis device for performing a numerical analysis by finite volume method, initial lattice data formed by using a free combination of tetrahedron cell, hexahedron cell and pentahedron cell are used. An index value of division and elimination is calculated based on density for every cell. When the volume of the cell is larger than a minimum value, the division level of the cell is not maximum, and the index value of division and elimination is larger than a division threshold, the cell is divided so as to divide the triangular face of the cell to a plurality of triangles and the square face to a plurality of squares. When the division level of the cell is not an initial grid of zero, and the index value of division and elimination is smaller than an elimination threshold, the cell is returned to the cell before division by elimination and combination.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
