Bear Head LNG has secured US Department of Energyrnapproval to send 1.2 Bcf/d of gas by pipeline from thernUS to Canada as part of plans to export LNG from NovarnScotia. Bear Head LNG is a subsidiary of Australia’srnLiquefied Natural Gas Ltd.rnThe July 17 approval also enables Bear Head tornexport the LNG equivalent of 1.1 Bcf/d of gas from thernfacility on the Strait of Canso in Nova Scotia torncountries that have free-trade agreements with the US.rnBear Head still has applications pending before DOE tornexport that volume to non-FTA countries and to movern0.7 Bcf/d of Canadian gas through the US and back tornCanada by pipeline.
