I'm spitting blood. A few days ago, a salesman at one of the major European investment banks - for once I shall be discreet enough not to mention it by name - called me up and brazenly announced that the bank would no longer be taking new issue orders from intermediaries such as ourselves. The bank only wants to deal with, so he told us, "end investors". It is all probably a case of a few individuals believing that they are worth what they are paid - and seeing as that is a lot more than most, they think that means they are more important than the rest of us.
