Corporate supply within inches of weekly record

A new issue from Redexis Gas on Friday took the week's corporate investment-grade bond issuance in Europe to within spitting distance of the previous weekly record set in 2009. The week had already seen a €14.2bn of euro supply from 15 issuers by the close of Thursday and the €650m Redexis trade put the final level at €14.85bn from 16 issuers. This eclipsed the previous second busiest week for investment-grade corporates in euros, which a banker said was the €14.45bn total during the fifth week of 2009. It is just below the busiest week on record, however, which was the €15.25bn seen in the 19th week of 2009.
