StanChart takes axe to debt financing group

Standard chartered is taking the knife to debt financing business in a move to streamline its management structure and improve risk pricing. As part of a wider restructuring under new CEO Bill Winters, StanChart is to remove several senior positions and separate syndicated lending from the capital markets group. Among the managing directors at risk are Aaron Russell-Davison, who has already stepped aside as global head of debt capital markets. Some of the bank's six regional heads of capital markets will also leave or be reassigned, according to multiple sources familiar with the plans.
