Britain has appointed insurance regulator Sam Woods (left) as the Bank of England's new chief executive of the PRUDENTIAL REGULATION AUTHORITY, who is responsible for day-today supervision of banks. Woods is currently executive director of insurance supervision at the PRA and will start in his new job on July 1. He succeeds Andrew Bailey, who is moving to head Britain's Financial Conduct Authority, in one of the most powerful jobs in European banking regulation.
