Thirty years after the launch of ISDA's Master Agreement, which laid the foundation for the US$483trn over-the-counter derivatives market, the industry is collaborating once again. In a bid to successfully navigate the next three decades, swaps participants are working on common standards that would drive a transition to automated systems and open the door for efficiency benefits promised by new technologies such as blockchain.
