Carbon Black in high demand on IPO

Investors scrambled to get a piece of the US$152m IPO of endpoint security software company carbon black. Underwriters did show a little valuation restraint in pricing, even though they did not have to. Carbon Black late on Thursday sold 8m primary shares at US$19.00 each, the top end of a US$17-$19 range that a day earlier was increased from US$15-$17 at launch. Debuting on Nasdaq early on Friday, the shares opened at US$24.70 for an immediate 30% gain.
