Bonuses across New York City's securities industry paid for last year jumped 17% to an average US$184,220, the highest apart from the boom year of 2006. The rise increased the total bonus pool to US$31.4bn, marking a second consecutive increase after a two-year decline, according to estimates by New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.
