US Loan group's Smith retires

Bram Smith is retiring from the loan syndications and trading association after more than nine years at the helm of the US loan trade organisation, during which the US leveraged loan market has grown more than 60% to US$955bn. Smith, formerly head of loan capital markets at Bear Stearns, became the LSTA's interim executive director in late 2008 and led the organisation through the financial crisis, surging regulatory requirements and rapid technological changes.
