BLACKSTONE GROUP is seeking consent from lenders for a change of control on a A$l .79bn (US$1.36bn) five-year loan signed in December 2019 as it weighs a trade sale and an initial public offering for its logistics and industrial property portfolio in Australia. It has appointed JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley for a potential IPO on the Australian Securities Exchange for the portfolio, which will be known as Milestone Logistics upon listing, according to local news reports. The private equity firm has also appointed JLL and Eastdil Secured to run a concurrent trade sale of the 45 logistics property assets in Australia. The private equity firm signed a four-tranche loan in December 2019 to refinance loans raised in 2016 and 2017 for property acquisitions.
