Mexico's TV AZTECA was downgraded six notches to a C rating by Fitch following the company's announcement that it would skip an interest payment due on its 8.25% 2024 notes and would look to restructure the US$400m bonds instead. The media company said last week it would not make the US$16.5m payment that was due on February 9, "expecting to reach briefly an agreement that responds to the context and the situation of the company". Fitch cut the company's long-term rating to C from B on Thursday.
