Chinese online short video company KUAISHOU TECHNOLOGY is planning to seek listing approval from the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong as early as mid-January for an IPO which could value the company at around US$50bn, said people close to the deal. The Tencent-backed start-up could raise more than US$5bn in a listing in early February. Kuaishou in early November filed a Hong Kong listing application with Bank of America, China Renaissance and Morgan Stanley as sponsors, moving ahead of rival ByteDance in the race to go public.
