EU takes next Sure step

The EUROPEAN UNION is closing in on the debut issuance under its €100bn Support to mitigate Unemployment Risks in an Emergency (Sure) programme with the announcement of an investor call for Wednesday October 7. A proposed start date for the week of September 21 came and went after delays in finalising the details and loan contracts with member states, but the latest development suggests the issuer is back on track to inaugurate its Sure borrowing.
