SSA issuers that stuck to the short end of the US dollar market and started with decent new issue concessions were rewarded with bumper books last week as issuance in the currency once again stole the show over euros and sterling. Public sector issuers printed USS7.35bn, another hectic week in the currency after the US$10bn priced the previous week. "Markets generally are not that straightforward and there are lot of questions around the direction of monetary policy," a syndicate banker said.
