JP MORGAN has appointed Ben Thompson as head of leveraged finance capital markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as part of a slew of senior changes in capital markets and investment banking.JP Morgan also announced changes in its equity capital markets and M&A leadership, according to staffmemos seen by IFR. Aloke Gupte and Alex Watkins will become co-heads of ECM in EMEA, and Marco Caggiano and Chris Roop were named co-heads of North America M&A.Thompson's promotion will see him lead JP Morgan's debt capital markets franchise in the EMEA region alongside Stefan Povaly and Daniel Rudnicki, co-heads of EMEA leveraged finance origination. Thompson will report to global head of DCM Kevin Foley, his predecessor in the EMEA role.
