Lotte to test REIT market

Lotte reit is set to test investor appetite for South Korea's largest real estate investment trust, hoping that favourable interest rates and strong backing from Lotte Group will overcome the local market's scepticism towards the format. South Korea's REIT market has struggled to catch up with its peers in Asia and these aspirations were dealt a major blow in March, when supermarket chain Homeplus cancelled the W1.7trn (US$1.5bn) listing of Korea Retail Home Plus REIT on weak investor demand.
