Tencent-backed live game-streaming platform DOUYU has filed confidentially for a US IPO that could raise about US$500m this year, according to people close to the deal. The deal is expected to come as early as the second quarter. IFR reported in January last year that the company planned to list in Hong Kong. Rival Huya, the game-streaming unit of Nasdaq-listed YY, listed in the US in May last year. Shares in the company, which is also backed by Tencent, have risen as much as 323% since the listing. The stock closed at US$19.36 last Monday, 61% above its IPO price. The market capitalisation of the company stood at US$3.95bn.
