Senior Lehman Brothers bankers last week slammed the previous weekend's frantic discussions with Barclays in New York as a disgrace. The accusations were compounded by the disgust felt by the entire Lehman community outside the US as it became increasingly clear that thousands of employees had been abandoned to their fate by the US management of the firm.
