MCERTS Expanded to Environmental Monitoring Data Management Systems

The Monitoring Certification Scheme (MCERTS) was expanded in 2009 to incorporate Environmental Monitoring Data Management Systems. It is unique, in that its rigorous requirements ensure that product development meets high standards. The standard covers the following: As in ISO9001 procedures must be in place to ensure quality throughout product development and provision; Software development and testing must be to established professional standards; Functionality is audited to ensure it is appropriate for its' intended application; Security and auditability must be ensured; Safeguards must be implemented for code availability in the event of the provider being unable to support the product.
