EU Members Vote to Extend Antidumping Duties on Chinese Fluorescent Light Bulbs

In a decision that critics claim contradicts the European Union's drive to increase energy efficiency, reduce dependency on foreign energy sources, and combat global warming, EU member states approved a proposal Oct. 15 to extend antidumping duties on fluorescent energy light bulbs imported from China. The agreement will impose tariffs as much as 66 percent on fluorescent light bulbs produced in China.
