Paris—France plans to overhaul its public finances and make better use of green taxation as part of a new bid to meet a range of environmental objectives, including those concerning climate change, Minister of State for Sustainable Development Jean-Louis Borloo said June 29. The energy, housing, and transport sectors will bear the brunt of early reforms, many of which will be finalized during a national environmental policy summit slated for early October, Borloo said during the first public presentation of France's new Sustainable Development Ministry.
