Freising, Germany—The German Research Foundation (DFG) July 5 issued an updated list of its recommended "maximum allowable concentrations" for toxic substances, having made 155 modifications and new entries since 2005.rnThe report from the DFG Senate Commission recommends new guidelines for certain substances and adds lead and o-toluidine to a list of carcinogens. DFG is an independent, government-sponsored research organization.rnThe report cited tests showing o-toluidine and lead and its inorganic compounds to be carcinogenic in animals and humans, making them Category 1 carcinogens.
