Norwegian 2009 Budget Boosts Spending On Emissions Reduction, Development Aid

The Norwegian government Oct. 7 announced significant funding increases for a variety of environmental sectors including emissions-reduction efforts, forestry protection, and pollution control, as part of its 2009 budget proposal. In all, the government said, total environmental funding will increase by around 25 percent in 2009 compared to the current year.
