New French Ban on 30 Active Ingredients Will Affect More Than 1,500 Pesticides

France's Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Jan. 29 announced the cancellation of marketing licenses for pesticides containing 30 active ingredients considered dangerous for human health and the environment. The withdrawal of authorization—effective Feb. 1—is expected to affect more than 1,500 commercial pesticide products currently sold in France, the ministry said in a Jan. 29 statement.
