Soaring real estate prices in India have made it difficult for builders to construct environmentally friendly buildings, according to a joint study released March 26 by consulting firm Grant Thornton and The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).rnThe total number of green buildings, which can cost 25 percent to 35 percent more than regular buildings, is still less than 300 for the entire country, said the study, "Indian Real Estate Vision 2020."
