Paraguay Issues Implementing Regulations For Medical Waste Handling, Disposal Law

Municipalities in Paraguay must set up facilities for medical waste treatment and disposal, according to regulations issued May 5 to implement the country's medical waste law (Law 3361/07 on handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of medical waste). The regulations, issued by presidential Decree 6538, also require the General Environmental Health Directorate to create a national register to monitor all health establishments and medicinal material transportation in the country.
