摘要

Japan's Ministry of the Environment will continue efforts to closely monitor and reduce levels of volatile organic compounds and particulate matter (PM) in the air but could ease certain requirements for businesses, an official confirmed to BNA Nov. 29. Among potential changes, the government could require less frequent submission of reports and conduct less frequent inspections of factories and other VOC-emitting facilities, now required twice a year, said Taka-hisa Goto, the officer in charge of VOCs at the ministry's Water and Air Environment Division.
