Japan to Enforce Tougher Rules to Prevent Water Contamination From Toxic Substances

All companies in Japan that use, store, and distribute 26 types of toxic substances will be required to ensure pollutant discharge levels are within certain tolerance levels, periodically inspect their facilities, and keep records of substance levels and storage facility conditions as outlined in amendments to the Water Contamination Law starting June 1, according to an undated announcement on the Ministry of the Environment website.
