Green Building Certification System Seeks To Help Developing Countries With Growth

The International Finance Corp. and the World Green Building Council announced a green building certification system July 16 that they say could help bring sustainable growth to rapidly urbanizing countries with surging populations. The certification system, called Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE), seeks to make green building practices more accessible to developing coun- tries so that they can better control emissions, promote energy security, and minimize resource depletion.
