摘要

Industrial users in Canada of four toxic substances-2-nitropropane, 2-nitrotoluene, a form of phenol known as DTBSBP and MAPBAP acetate-are required to report any significant new uses of the substances to the government under a final order published Jan. 15. The four substances were identified in screening assessments as toxic substances under Section 64 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA), with DTBSBP and MAPBAP acetate posing a risk to aquatic organisms and 2-intropropane and 2-nitrotoluene posing a risk to human health due to their carcinogenicity, Environment Canada and Health Canada said in a regulatory impact analysis accompanying publication of the final order in the Canada Gazette, Part Ⅱ.
