OECD Plans Draft Guidance for Adapting Genotoxicity Test Guidelines to Nanomaterials

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is working to ease the complex task of adapting existing guidelines for testing chemicals for genotoxicity to certain distinct properties of manufactured nanomaterials, OECD officials told Bloomberg BNA. At a meeting in Paris in April, the OECD Working Group of National Coordinators of the Test Guidelines Program will consider draft guidance for adapting OECD test guideline (TG) No. 487 for micronucleus in vitro assays for genotoxicity to the testing of nanomaterials, Mar Gonzalez, an official on OECD's nano safety team, told Bloomberg BNA Jan. 12.
