Environmental Group, California Launch Pilot To Recover Old Tires Along Mexican Border

The state of California has launched a pilot program with the binational environmental group Wildcoast/Costasalvaje to remove and recycle 50,000 to 100,000 discarded tires from the San Diego-Tijuana border region during the next year. "This is the first credible effort to pick them up and recycle them," said Wildcoast Executive Director Serge Dedina. "The second part is the important one.
